FAQ

Answers on what you receive, delivery times, how credits differ from quotas, and what to check in a provider agreement before you order.
Is it legal to buy a cloud account?

Buying or selling an account is not in itself unlawful in most jurisdictions, but that is a separate question from whether a given provider permits it. Every major provider sets its own rules on account ownership and transfer in its customer agreement, those rules differ between providers, and they change over time.

Read the customer agreement for the provider you are buying for and satisfy yourself that the arrangement suits your use case before you order. If anything is unclear, ask us first and we will tell you what the account is and how it was set up.

What exactly do I receive?

Sign in credentials for the account, plus whatever the tier you selected specifies: console or portal access, any preloaded credit balance, and the region availability listed on that product page.

The cloud services page lists every provider we currently carry, and each product page sets out what that particular tier includes.

How quickly will I receive my account?

Delivery times vary by product:

  • Fastest – minutes to an hour (DigitalOcean, Oracle Cloud, Google Workspace)
  • Standard – 30 minutes to a few hours (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Longer lead time – 2 to 12 hours (Hetzner, OVHcloud, Atlantic.Net)

The estimate for a specific tier is shown on its product page. If an order is going to take longer than quoted, we tell you rather than let it run over quietly.

Can I use the account for production workloads?

Yes, subject to the same constraints any account carries. Service quotas start at the provider default and are raised by request rather than by spending more, so if your workload needs a high vCPU count or a particular instance family on day one, check the limits before you commit.

How AWS vCPU quotas work explains the mechanics, and the same principle applies at every provider.

Will the credits and the quotas be what I expect?

Credits and quotas are two different things and they are easy to confuse. A credit balance offsets your invoice; it does not raise any service limit.

How cloud credits work covers what credits do and do not cover, the order in which balances are consumed, and what expires first. If a credit figure is decisive for your decision, confirm it with us before ordering.

Which provider should I choose?

It usually comes down to what your team already knows, what your identity system is, and how much egress you will generate. Our guides and comparisons cover the trade-offs without the marketing: AWS vs Azure, Hetzner vs DigitalOcean, and how the pricing models compare are the usual starting points.

If you tell us the workload, we will tell you which account in the catalogue fits it, or whether none of them does.

What if I need help with setup?

We provide support for the accounts we supply. Our team can help with:

  • Account activation and first sign in
  • Billing and cost alert setup
  • Deploying your first resources
  • Working out which quota increase to request

For the groundwork, the first hour in a new account and cloud account security basics are worth reading before you deploy anything.

Do you offer volume or ongoing pricing?

Yes. Get in touch through the contact page with the providers and quantities you need and we will quote for it.

Still deciding which provider to buy for?

The questions above cover ordering, delivery and support. The choice of provider is a separate problem, and the guides and comparisons handle it in more depth than a FAQ answer can: AWS vs Azure for the enterprise decision, DigitalOcean vs Linode for the developer clouds, and Hetzner vs OVHcloud for the European operators.

On cost, the pricing models compared and data transfer costs between them explain most of the variance people find surprising on their first invoice.

When you know what you need, every account we carry is on the cloud services page. If your question is not answered here, send it to us and we will answer it directly.

Provider terms differ on account ownership and transfer, and they change. The AWS Customer Agreement, the Google Cloud Platform Terms of Service and the Microsoft Customer Agreement are the primary sources for the three largest providers.
